Philadelphia Police Seek Five Suspects in Violent Ditman Street Kidnapping and Robbery

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are asking for the public's help to identify five suspects involved in a violent home invasion and kidnapping that took place on the 6700 block of Ditman Street in the Tacony neighborhood.

The incident began around 1:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, when a 41-year-old man was ambushed by five individuals exiting an SUV as he arrived at his home. The suspects forced him at gunpoint to drive to a secondary location, where he was pistol-whipped and forced to surrender his house keys and personal items.

The suspects then forced the victim to drive back to his residence. Upon entering the home, the group assaulted two other occupants — a 52-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man — while demanding details about a safe and jewelry. The suspects fled the scene in an SUV with thousands of dollars in cash and jewelry. The suspects are described as Black males wearing all-black clothing, and police are urging anyone with information to contact the department.
