Large Gambling Machines Targeted in Philadelphia Gas Station Robberies

Philadelphia police are investigating a pattern of brazen commercial robberies targeting gas stations across different neighborhoods in the city. The suspects, described as masked groups, have successfully removed and hauled off large, heavy gambling machines from the businesses.

The first reported incident occurred on May 21, 2026, in the Tacony section of Philadelphia. According to law enforcement, a group of masked individuals forced entry into a Sunoco gas station. Once inside, they coordinated to carry out a large gambling machine from the premises. A similar incident occurred just ten days later, on May 31, 2026, in the Rhawnhurst neighborhood, where three masked men entered a gas station and fled with another large gaming terminal.

Investigators are comparing security footage from both locations to determine if the same group is responsible for both heists. The physical size and weight of these machines suggest the suspects utilized a vehicle capable of transporting heavy cargo and operated with a planned strategy. Local business owners are urged to review their security setups and contact detectives with any information regarding these incidents.
