Gunfire Exchanged During Attempted Armored Truck Robbery Outside Holmesburg Wawa

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A chaotic scene unfolded in Philadelphia's Holmesburg neighborhood on Friday when an armored truck guard exchanged gunfire with armed robbers outside a busy convenience store.

The incident occurred on October 17, 2025, outside a Wawa location. According to police reports, armed suspects attempted to rob the armored truck as it was servicing the store. A guard on duty reacted quickly, drawing a weapon and exchanging shots with the suspects. It is currently unclear if anyone was injured during the gun battle, and the suspects fled the scene shortly after the exchange of gunfire.
