Police Search for Suspect Who Pistol-Whipped and Robbed Man in Strawberry Mansion

STRAWBERRY MANSION, PHILADELPHIA — Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted for a violent assault and robbery at a market in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the incident occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026. The suspect entered a local market located on the 2900 block of Ridge Avenue and immediately confronted a victim inside the establishment.

During the encounter, the suspect pulled out a handgun and proceeded to strike the victim in the head several times with the weapon. The victim sustained injuries from the pistol-whipping as the suspect demanded money and valuables. The assailant then grabbed cash and fled the store on foot.

Detectives have released surveillance video showing the suspect and the attack in detail. The suspect is described as a male wearing dark clothing. Police caution the public not to approach the suspect if spotted, as he is considered armed and dangerous.
