Shootout at Fairmount Gas Station on College Avenue Leaves 1 Dead, Security Guard Wounded

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A violent shootout erupted at a gas station in Philadelphia's Fairmount neighborhood on Wednesday morning, leaving one man dead and a security guard wounded. The incident, which occurred along College Avenue, has sparked a fresh investigation into gun violence in the area.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Fairmount gas station on April 10, 2024, following multiple reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered a scene of chaos with shell casings littered across the pavement. One individual was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical services.

A security guard employed at the location was also caught in the gunfire. The guard sustained injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for emergency treatment, where they are currently listed in stable condition.
