Fake Officer Zip-Ties Employee During Commercial Robbery in Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a brazen robbery in the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia, where a suspect impersonating a law enforcement officer bound an employee and robbed a commercial business.

The incident occurred on June 9, 2025. According to investigators, a man wearing law enforcement insignia and posing as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent entered the local business. Once inside, the suspect confronted a female employee, bound her with zip ties, and proceeded to rob the establishment.

Authorities have released security camera images of the suspect in hopes that members of the public can help identify him. Police describe the suspect as a male wearing items designed to mimic official law enforcement uniforms. Anyone who recognizes the individual in the photos or has information regarding the incident is urged to contact detectives immediately.
