Pittsburgh Police Detain Juvenile Suspects After South Side Armed Robbery Spree

Law enforcement officers in Pittsburgh have apprehended several teenagers in connection with two consecutive commercial robberies executed at knifepoint in the South Side neighborhood.

The Pittsburgh Police Department responded to emergency calls on the afternoon of January 16, 2025, reports indicating that a group of juveniles had held up two local businesses. Armed with a knife, the suspects threatened employees at both locations, demanding cash from the registers. Thanks to swift reporting from victims, officers on patrol were able to locate the fleeing suspects nearby within minutes of the second incident.

All involved teenagers were arrested without further incident, and the stolen property was recovered. Police officials confirmed that no store employees or bystanders were harmed during the robberies. The suspects are currently facing multiple charges in juvenile court, including armed robbery and criminal conspiracy.
