Suspect Arrested in Violent Assault and Attempted Robbery at Overbrook Spa

PITTSBURGH, PA — Police have apprehended a suspect believed to be involved in a brutal assault and attempted robbery at a business in Pittsburgh's Overbrook neighborhood earlier this month.

William Grayson, 47, was taken into custody on February 22, 2024, by Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officers. Investigators identified Grayson as one of two masked suspects who forced their way into the Sky Spa, located on Library Road, on the evening of February 12, 2024.

Details of the Spa Assault

According to court documents, the incident occurred as an employee was opening the door to let a client leave. The suspects rushed in, demanding money, and one of them pistol-whipped the spa employee. The victim suffered head lacerations and was treated for injuries. The suspects fled the scene without successfully taking cash, but left behind physical evidence that helped detectives identify Grayson.

Grayson now faces a list of serious criminal charges, including:

• Conspiracy to Commit Robbery
• Recklessly Endangering Another Person

Authorities are continuing their search for the second accomplice and are investigating whether this incident is linked to a high-speed police pursuit that occurred a few days later in the nearby Beltzhoover neighborhood.
