Employee Assaulted with Fire Extinguisher in Brookline Dry Cleaner Robbery

PITTSBURGH, PA — Authorities in Pittsburgh are investigating a violent robbery at a dry cleaning business in the Brookline neighborhood, which left an employee injured after being assaulted with a fire extinguisher.

According to local police, the incident occurred on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. An unidentified suspect entered the dry cleaning shop with the intent to commit robbery. During the course of the crime, the situation escalated when the suspect grabbed a fire extinguisher on site and used it to strike an employee.

Emergency medical services and police officers responded to the scene shortly after. The extent of the employee's injuries has not been fully disclosed, and it remains unclear what, if any, cash or valuables were stolen from the establishment.
