Pittsburgh Man Arrested and Charged with Sexual Assault Following Oakland Home Break-In

PITTSBURGH, PA — A local man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and burglary following a terrifying home invasion in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood. The arrest follows a swift investigation by detectives from the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.

According to police reports, the suspect forced his way into the victim's residence in Oakland, a busy residential area that home to many university students. Once inside, the intruder confronted the female victim and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene. The victim was able to contact emergency services shortly after the suspect left the premises.

Investigators utilized physical evidence, victim testimony, and area surveillance cameras to identify the suspect. He was subsequently taken into custody and faces charges of burglary, sexual assault, and related offenses. The suspect is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing.
