Spa Employee Pistol-Whipped During Armed Robbery at Overbrook Business

PITTSBURGH, PA — A violent robbery attempt at a business in the Overbrook neighborhood has left a spa employee injured and sparked an intensive police search for two suspects.

First responders were called to the Sky Spa on the 2400 block of Library Road in Pittsburgh shortly after 10:00 p.m. on February 12, 2024, following reports of an active robbery. Upon arrival, officers found a female employee suffering from injuries to her head.

Violent Confrontation Inside Sky Spa

Investigators state that as the employee was opening the front door to let a customer exit, two masked men armed with handguns forced their way inside the building. During the brief struggle, one of the intruders struck the employee in the head with a pistol. Despite the violence, the suspects were unable to secure any cash or valuables and fled the premises on foot, heading toward a waiting vehicle.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition where she received treatment for lacerations and contusions. Police have collected surveillance footage from surrounding businesses and are asking anyone with information to contact the Pittsburgh Police Zone 3 station.
