Portland Man Faces Heavy Charges After Dispensary Robberies and Attack on Sheriff's Deputy
PORTLAND, Ore. — A Portland man is facing a long list of felony charges following an investigation into armed cannabis dispensary robberies that culminated in a violent confrontation with law enforcement officers.
The case began on April 24, 2024, when police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a local Portland dispensary. During that incident, an armed individual entered the shop, threatened employees, and made off with cannabis products and cash. Despite an immediate search of the area, the suspect managed to evade initial capture, leaving dispensary workers shaken.
Investigation Leads to Suspect
Over the following months, detectives gathered evidence and surveillance footage linking the April 24 robbery to other commercial break-ins in the Portland metropolitan area. The break in the case came in February 2026, when law enforcement located the suspect.
Attack on Responding Deputy
On February 19, 2026, deputies attempted to take the Portland man into custody. However, the suspect resisted arrest and launched a physical assault against a responding deputy. According to court documents, the deputy sustained injuries during the struggle before other officers managed to subdue the suspect and place him in handcuffs.
The suspect now faces multiple severe charges, including:
- Armed Robbery in the First Degree
- Assault on a Public Safety Officer
- Resisting Arrest
- Felon in Possession of a Firearm
He is currently held in the Multnomah County Detention Center pending his initial court appearance.
