Truck Smashes Into Southwest Portland Bottle Shop in Attempted ATM Theft

A bottle shop in Southwest Portland sustained major damage after suspects rammed a truck through the storefront in a failed attempt to steal an automated teller machine (ATM) inside the business.

The incident occurred during the early morning hours when a truck was driven directly into the entrance of the shop, shattering glass and structural columns. Despite the significant damage caused by the impact, the perpetrators were unable to successfully dislodge or transport the ATM from the premises and fled the scene before officers arrived.

Portland Police are investigating the incident and seeking information regarding the truck, which was abandoned nearby and reported stolen. The store owners are currently assessing the repair costs, while detectives review security footage in an effort to identify the suspects involved in the destructive heist.
