Intruder Shouted 'Honey, I'm Here' Before Attempting to Assault Portland Mother Holding Baby

PORTLAND, Oregon — A Portland household was subjected to a terrifying ordeal when a home invader yelled a chillingly familiar greeting before attempting to sexually assault a mother who was holding her baby.

According to police reports, the suspect forced his way into the residence and shouted, "Honey, I'm here," to disorient the victim. He then aggressively confronted the mother, attempting to assault her despite the fact that she was actively holding her infant. The victim fought back fiercely, creating enough of a disturbance to alert others or cause the suspect to flee before he could complete the assault.

Responding police officers launched an immediate search of the area, utilizing K9 units to track the suspect. The victim and the baby did not suffer major physical injuries, though they were extremely shaken by the violent intrusion. Police described the suspect as highly dangerous and have intensified patrols in the area while appealing to the public for any information or security camera footage that might help identify him.
