Maine Man Arrested in Portland After Break-In and Scooter Collision with Police Cruiser

A Maine man has been taken into custody following a bizarre series of events in Portland, Maine, where he is accused of breaking into a residence and later colliding with a police cruiser while operating a scooter.

Portland Police Department officers responded to a call regarding a break-in at a local home. As police arrived to investigate, the suspect attempted to flee the scene. In his attempt to escape, the suspect, who was riding a scooter, collided directly with an arriving police cruiser.

Following the collision, the suspect was detained and arrested. He faces multiple charges, including burglary and operating a vehicle in a reckless manner. Officers involved in the collision did not report serious injuries, and the suspect was evaluated for minor injuries before being booked into the regional correctional facility.
