Greenacres Man Arrested in Port St. Lucie Construction Site Circuit Breaker Thefts
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL โ A Greenacres man is facing a mountain of criminal charges after Port St. Lucie Police connected him to a massive theft ring targeting residential construction sites. Arnoldo Perez-Mirabal, 50, has been arrested and charged with more than 100 felony counts related to burglary and grand theft.
New Construction Neighborhoods Targeted
According to investigators, Perez-Mirabal traveled from Greenacres to Port St. Lucie over a period of nearly two months. His targets were new homes currently under construction. Police reports indicate that Perez-Mirabal systematically broke into more than 50 unfinished houses to steal vital electrical equipment.
In total, hundreds of circuit breakers and electrical panels were removed from the properties, causing substantial financial losses for builders and delaying construction schedules. The thefts occurred throughout several developing residential communities in the Port St. Lucie area.
Arrest and High Bond
Following an intensive investigation by the Port St. Lucie Police Department, Perez-Mirabal was identified as the primary suspect. On April 5, 2024, officers located and arrested him. He was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail, where he was held on a bond totaling $1.2 million, reflecting the extensive scale and repetitive nature of the crimes.
