Police Investigate String of Business Burglaries at Port St. Lucie Plaza
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL โ The Port St. Lucie Police Department is actively investigating a series of early-morning commercial burglaries that occurred at a local shopping plaza, prompting a call for public assistance. The crimes took place during the early hours of May 27 at the Shoppes at Torino Plaza, situated in the 5300 block of Northwest Torino Parkway.
Early Morning Alarm Triggers Response
According to police reports, the investigation began when officers responded to a commercial burglary alarm at a beauty salon located within the shopping complex. Upon arrival, officers discovered that multiple businesses in the plaza had been compromised. A total of six business establishments were confirmed to have been burglarized during the overnight crime spree.
No Signs of Forced Entry at Salon
During the initial scene investigation, detectives reviewed surveillance footage from the beauty salon. The video captured an unidentified individual entering the premises. Intriguingly, investigators noted that there were no signs of forced entry at the salon, suggesting the perpetrator may have utilized a bypass method, picked the lock, or found the door unsecured.
Losses and Call for Information
Authorities estimate the total losses across the six targeted businesses, including stolen cash, property, and associated damages, to be approximately $7,500. Port St. Lucie Police Department detectives are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area of Northwest Torino Parkway on the night of the incident, or who has access to additional surveillance footage, to contact the department immediately.
