Bonded Vault Heist Continues to Captivate Rhode Island 50 Years Later

PROVIDENCE, RI — The legendary Bonded Vault heist, which occurred on August 14, 1975, remains one of the most notorious and fascinating crimes in Rhode Island history. Now, fifty years after the daring robbery, the story of the heist continues to captivate the public and criminology enthusiasts alike.

The heist targeted the Bonded Vault Company, a commercial safe-deposit business located in Providence. A group of armed men, associated with the Patriarca crime family, managed to gain entry to the vault and systematically looted 146 safe-deposit boxes.
