Astoria Robbery Response Explodes Into Massive $5 Million Marijuana Bust by NYPD

ASTORIA, Queens — What began as a standard police response to a reported commercial robbery in Astoria escalated into one of the largest illegal cannabis seizures in recent months, with the NYPD confiscating an estimated $5 million worth of marijuana products from an unlicensed warehouse operation.

Officers responded to an emergency call reporting a robbery in progress at an industrial property in the Astoria section of Queens. Upon entering the building to secure the scene, officers discovered a massive distribution network filled with thousands of packages of unregulated cannabis, edibles, and THC concentrates. Instead of a standard burglary scene, police found themselves inside a large-scale, illegal processing and packaging hub designed to supply illicit retail shops across the metropolitan area.

The responding officers immediately secured the facility and called in specialized narcotics units to process the substantial inventory.
