Three Arrested After Target-Burglary of Queens Family's Home and Business on Groom's Wedding Day

QUEENS, NEW YORK โ€” Police have taken three individuals into custody following a coordinated investigation into a series of daring thefts that targeted a Queens family on May 2, 2026โ€”the very day of the groom's wedding ceremony.

The suspects allegedly coordinated two separate break-ins. The first took place at a commercial warehouse in Bayonne, New Jersey, where they stole six commercial pushcarts belonging to the family's food-vendor business. The second occurred at the family's residential home in East Elmhurst, Queens. The burglars forced entry into the house while the family was celebrating the wedding, ransacking multiple rooms and stealing valuable jewelry, cash, and personal items.

Investigators utilized neighborhood security cameras to track the suspects' movements. The surveillance video showed the perpetrators entering the East Elmhurst home shortly after the family left for the wedding venue. Following a joint operation between the NYPD and New Jersey law enforcement agencies, three suspects were identified and subsequently arrested. They face multiple charges, including burglary, grand larceny, and conspiracy.

While the arrests bring some closure, the victimized family faces a long road to recovery. The food carts are the primary source of income for the family, and the theft has temporarily halted their business operations. Community members have rallied to support the newlyweds and their relatives as they work to replace the stolen equipment and secure their home.
