Police Search for Suspect After Raleigh Home Invasion Leaves Woman Injured

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are searching for a suspect after an early morning home invasion left a local resident injured on Saturday.

Raleigh Police Department officers responded to a call regarding a residential burglary in progress. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a woman suffering from injuries sustained during the incident. Emergency medical services were immediately dispatched to provide treatment. The victim's injuries, while requiring medical attention, are currently believed to be non-life-threatening.

According to preliminary reports, the suspect entered the residence under cover of darkness, confronting the occupant inside. A struggle ensued, during which the woman was injured. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived and remains at large.

K-9 units and patrol officers conducted an extensive sweep of the surrounding neighborhood, but no arrests have been made at this time. Investigators are examining the point of entry and collecting physical evidence from the home.
