Thieves target electronic cigarettes in Richmond convenience store break-in

RICHMOND — Local law enforcement authorities are investigating a commercial break-in at a convenience store in Richmond where thieves specifically targeted vape and electronic cigarette products.

The burglary occurred during the early morning hours. Suspects managed to gain entry to the retail store by damaging a window or entrance, bypassing security measures. Once inside, they bypassed other merchandise to focus almost exclusively on the store's inventory of vaporizers and related accessories.

The shop owner reported significant inventory losses in addition to the physical damage caused during the break-in. Police are currently gathering security footage from the store's cameras and asking nearby residents or motorists who might have seen suspicious vehicles or individuals in the vicinity during the night to come forward.
