Burglars Ram Car Into Richmond Eyeglasses Store in Attempted Robbery

An eyeglasses store in Richmond was left with significant front-end damage after burglars attempted to break into the business by ramming a car into the storefront.

The attempted heist took place in the early morning hours. Suspects used a passenger vehicle to smash into the entrance of the optical shop, hoping to shatter the glass and security barriers to clear a path inside. However, despite causing heavy structural damage to the doors and windows, the building's security measures held, and the burglars were unable to successfully enter the premises.

The suspects fled the scene empty-handed before police arrived. Investigators are currently searching for the vehicle used in the incident, which is believed to have sustained backend or frontend damage from the collision. Store management is working with contractors to secure the building and assess the cost of repairs.
