Walgreens Pharmacy Robbed of Prescription Drugs at Gunpoint in Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY — Investigators are searching for a suspect involved in a brazen daytime armed robbery at a local Walgreens pharmacy, where prescription medications were stolen at gunpoint.

The incident occurred when an unidentified individual entered the pharmacy department of the Walgreens store. The suspect brandished a firearm and demanded that pharmacy staff hand over specific controlled substances. Out of concern for the safety of employees and customers present, the staff complied with the demands and handed over the requested drugs.

The suspect then fled the store and was last seen heading in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported during the encounter. Rochester Police arrived on the scene shortly after the alarm was raised, collecting physical evidence and interviewing witnesses.

Police are reviewing security camera footage from the pharmacy to identify the suspect.
