Rochester: Second Man Sentenced in Violent Glass-Smashing Home Invasion
Second Suspect Sentenced in Violent Rochester Home Invasion
The local judicial system has officially handed down a sentence for the second individual formally convicted in connection with a terrifying and highly violent home invasion that occurred in Rochester, Minnesota, last year. Twenty-three-year-old Anthony Lamar Alexander was officially sentenced by a judge to five years of supervised probation with no additional jail time required. The presiding judge granted Alexander full credit for the 216 days he had already spent in police custody while awaiting the final resolution of the criminal case. Additionally, the judge issued a strictly stayed 48-month state prison sentence, which could be fully and immediately imposed if Alexander fails to successfully complete the strict terms of his court-ordered probation. Alexander had previously entered into a formal plea agreement with prosecutors last November, formally admitting to a felony count of aiding and abetting first-degree burglary involving assault, as well as a related misdemeanor count of aiding and abetting fifth-degree assault.
Masked Intruders Violently Smash Through Sliding Glass Door
The serious criminal charges stemmed directly from a highly coordinated and extremely violent break-in at a private residential condominium located in northwest Rochester. According to official Olmsted County court documents detailing the incident, Alexander and three other male suspects violently barged into the private residence by forcefully and deliberately smashing completely through a large rear sliding glass door. The terrified victim reported to responding police officers that he was alone in the bathroom when he suddenly heard a massive, startling "bang," which was followed almost immediately by the loud sound of heavy glass shattering as the four intruders aggressively rushed inside his home. Once inside the vulnerable condominium, the official charges alleged that the group violently and physically assaulted the helpless occupant.
Designer Shoes and Thousands in Cash Forcibly Stolen
During the terrifying and chaotic course of the physical assault, the official criminal complaint details that the battered victim was forcefully robbed of approximately $3,000 in physical cash, along with a pair of highly expensive designer shoes valued at around $1,800. Court documents also shockingly reveal the disturbing detail that a juvenile girl was physically present at the scene and actively recorded a digital video of the violent crime on a cell phone. Another convicted co-defendant in the complex case, 20-year-old Kane Lee Williams, was previously sentenced by the court to 90 days in the county jail and five years of probation for his specific role in the crime. The ongoing criminal cases against the two remaining named defendants, 19-year-old Brandon Lawson and 18-year-old Jamykeal Gill-Sanders, are still pending in the local court system and are formally scheduled for future legal hearings later this year.
