Teen Awaiting Carjacking Trial Accused of Stealing Checks from Catering Business

ROCHESTER, MN — A teenager currently awaiting trial for a previous carjacking charge has found themselves in further legal trouble after being accused of stealing checks from a local catering business in Rochester.

According to police reports, the suspect allegedly gained unauthorized access to the offices of the catering establishment. While inside, the individual targeted financial documents and successfully made off with a series of business checks. The theft was discovered when management noticed discrepancies in their financial records and reported the missing checks to authorities.

Following a prompt investigation, police identified the teenager as the primary suspect. Investigators revealed that the youth was already under court supervision and awaiting trial for an unrelated carjacking offense that took place earlier. The suspect has now been charged with additional felony counts related to theft and burglary.

The local prosecutor's office has indicated that they may seek to revoke the suspect's bail in light of these new allegations. The investigation remains active as authorities determine if any of the stolen checks were successfully forged or cashed.
