Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Rochester Cub Store

ROCHESTER, MN — Local law enforcement authorities are actively investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a Rochester Cub store, where a masked individual threatened staff with a knife before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to preliminary reports from the Rochester Police Department, the incident took place during the afternoon hours. Witnesses reported that a male suspect, whose face was concealed by a mask, entered the retail establishment and brandished a knife. He approached the service counter, demanding money from the cashier. Fearing for their safety, the employee complied with the demands.

After obtaining the cash, the suspect quickly exited the store on foot. Officers arrived shortly after receiving the emergency call, establishing a perimeter around the area and utilizing K-9 units to search for the suspect's trail. Despite their immediate response, the suspect remains at large.

Investigating officers are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the store and surrounding businesses to obtain a clearer description of the suspect. The police department is urging anyone with information, or who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the vicinity of the Cub store around the time of the robbery, to contact the Rochester Police Department or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
