Midtown Store Faces Thousands in Losses Following Repeated Smash-and-Grab Crimes

SACRAMENTO, California โ€” The owner of a Midtown Sacramento retail shop is facing thousands of dollars in damages and losses after the store was struck by repeated smash-and-grab burglaries in early March 2025.

According to reports from ABC10, the store suffered severe damage to its glass windows and interior displays as thieves forced entry repeatedly. The financial impact of replacing large glass windows, repairing broken displays, and replacing stolen inventory has placed a heavy burden on the local business.

Sacramento Police are reviewing surveillance video that captured the suspect breaking in and quickly cleaning out shelves. Community advocates and business associations are calling for stronger local ordinances and support for small businesses dealing with the costly aftermath of commercial burglaries.
