A South Sacramento jewelry store was severely damaged after suspect(s) used a vehicle to ram through its storefront in a violent overnight commercial burglary. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of April 22, 2026, has raised fresh concerns among local business owners regarding the rising trend of smash-and-grab robberies utilizing stolen or heavy vehicles.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, officers responded to reports of a commercial burglary in progress. Upon arrival, they discovered extensive structural damage to the front of the jewelry shop, with shattered glass, mangled metal security grates, and debris scattered across the sales floor. Preliminary reports indicate the vehicle was intentionally reversed into the entrance at high speed to bypass security measures.
