Armored Car Guard Pepper-Sprayed and Robbed of Cash Near San Antonio Bank

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A violent heist outside a local bank branch left an armored car driver injured and sparked a massive police search for an armed suspect on Friday afternoon.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the armored car driver was service-delivering or collecting funds near a bank branch when they were approached by a lone suspect. The attacker pepper-sprayed the driver to incapacitate them, snatched several bags of cash, and fled the scene. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect escape in a waiting vehicle.

Emergency medical personnel arrived on scene to treat the driver for exposure to the chemical irritant. Meanwhile, police units set up a perimeter and initiated a search of the surrounding area, but the suspect remains at large.

Investigators are working alongside bank officials and the armored car company to review exterior security feeds. The suspect is described as armed and dangerous, and the public is urged not to approach them but to contact authorities immediately with any information.
