Homeowner Held at Gunpoint During Car Break-In Prompts Police Safety Warnings

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A resident's attempt to deter a vehicle burglary took a dangerous turn when they were held at gunpoint by a suspect, prompting the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) to issue urgent safety warnings to homeowners.

The incident occurred in a residential neighborhood when the homeowner noticed suspicious activity around their parked vehicle. Upon stepping outside to confront the individual, the suspect pulled out a firearm and threatened the resident. The suspect then fled the area with stolen personal property.

In the wake of the close call, SAPD officials are advising community members to avoid direct confrontation with property thieves. "Property can be replaced; your life cannot," a police spokesperson emphasized. SAPD recommends locking all vehicle doors, removing valuables, and calling 911 immediately if suspicious activity is observed.
