West Side San Antonio Empanada Restaurant Hit by Third Break-In Within a Month
SAN ANTONIO, Texas โ A local business owner on the city's West Side is dealing with the aftermath of yet another burglary after their empanada restaurant was targeted by thieves for the third time this month.
According to San Antonio Police reports, the latest break-in occurred early Tuesday morning. The suspects gained entry by shattering the glass of the front entrance, a method consistent with the previous two incidents that occurred earlier in November.
The business owner, who has invested significantly in security cameras and reinforced locks, expressed deep frustration over the recurring crime. 'Itโs exhausting to wake up to a call from the security company and know that everything we've worked for has been violated again,' they said. While the burglars managed to escape with only a minimal amount of cash from the register, the property damage alone has cost the restaurant thousands of dollars in repairs and lost operating hours.
Community members and neighboring business owners have voiced growing concerns over a perceived rise in property crime on the West Side. Police are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the restaurant and surrounding businesses, hoping to identify the individuals involved. Officers are urging anyone with information regarding the break-ins or suspicious activity in the area to contact the San Antonio Police Department's property crimes unit.
