West Side Car Burglary Spree Ends in Standoff; Three Arrested by SAPD

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A rash of car burglaries on the West Side of San Antonio ended in a dramatic police standoff and multiple arrests on Friday, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Spree Leads to Police Intervention

During the early hours of June 27, 2025, police received reports of suspects breaking into multiple parked vehicles across several residential neighborhoods on the city's West Side. Officers patrolling the area spotted individuals matching the suspect descriptions and attempted to conduct a stop.

Instead of complying, the suspects fled, eventually barricading themselves inside a nearby residence. This triggered a standoff as officers surrounded the building and secured the immediate perimeter to protect local residents.

Tense Standoff Ends in Arrests

Hostage negotiators and SWAT units were dispatched to the scene to resolve the situation. After a period of negotiations, officers successfully took three suspects into custody without further incident or major injuries.

SAPD investigators recovered stolen property linked to the car burglaries inside the home. The three individuals are facing multiple charges, including burglary of a vehicle and evading arrest.
