Southside Gas Station Targeted by Two Thieves Who Assaulted Clerk During Robbery

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A violent robbery at a gas station on San Antonio's Southside has left a store clerk injured and police searching for two suspects who fled the scene.

The robbery took place early Saturday morning, June 15th, at a convenience store located near a busy Southside intersection. Security camera footage shows two male suspects entering the store with their faces partially covered. While one suspect immediately moved behind the counter to grab cash from the register, the second suspect confronted the store clerk.

When the clerk attempted to intervene and stop the theft, the suspects assaulted him, striking him multiple times before pushing him to the floor. The duo then grabbed several cartons of cigarettes and other items from the shelves before running out of the store to a waiting vehicle nearby.

Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly after the incident to treat the clerk's minor injuries. Police are reviewing the store's high-definition surveillance video to get a clearer picture of the suspects' identities and the getaway vehicle's license plate.
