Mostra Coffee in 4S Ranch Targeted in Early Morning Smash-and-Grab Burglary

SAN DIEGO, CA — The community of 4S Ranch has stepped up to help Mostra Coffee reopen after the popular local cafe was targeted in an early morning commercial burglary.

San Diego County Sheriff's deputies responded to an activated business alarm at the coffee shop, located in the 10500 block of Craftsman Way, at approximately 3:21 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered signs of forced entry, including a completely shattered glass front door. The suspects had vandalized interior cabinets and stole the shop's cash register containing an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing.

Despite the damage and mess left behind by the burglars, the cafe was able to open for its regular morning rush. Loyal customers and community members arrived early to help the staff sweep up the glass shards and clear the debris, demonstrating the neighborhood's resilience.

Deputies noted that other businesses in the same commercial plaza had also been targeted recently in similar smash-and-grab style incidents. The Sheriff's Department is working to identify the suspects and determine if they are connected to a broader burglary ring.
