Thieves Target Scripps Ranch Pizza Shop in Late-Night Burglary

SAN DIEGO, CA — A beloved neighborhood pizza shop in Scripps Ranch fell victim to a smash-and-grab burglary during the early hours of Sunday morning, leaving the business owners devastated and local police searching for suspects.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. at the pizza parlor located in a strip mall on Scripps Ranch Boulevard. Surveillance footage from inside the restaurant shows two masked individuals shattering the glass front door with a heavy tool before quickly entering the establishment.

Once inside, the thieves bypassed the dining area and headed directly behind the counter. They managed to pry open the cash register, stealing an undisclosed amount of cash. The entire break-in took less than three minutes, after which the suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan waiting nearby.

The shop's owner expressed deep frustration and sadness over the crime. "We work so hard to serve this community, and to have someone come in and tear up our shop is incredibly disheartening," the owner said. In addition to the stolen cash, the restaurant suffered significant damage, including the shattered glass door and damaged POS systems.

San Diego police are currently reviewing the high-definition security camera footage in hopes of identifying the perpetrators. Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the burglary to contact the San Diego Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
