San Diego Police Seek Public Assistance in Kearny Mesa Gas Station Armed Robbery
SAN DIEGO, CA โ San Diego Police are requesting the public's assistance in identifying an armed suspect who robbed a Kearny Mesa gas station at gunpoint in March.
The incident took place shortly after 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the Chevron gas station located in the 7700 block of Balboa Avenue. According to police reports, a man walked into the convenience store, brandished a black semi-automatic pistol, and pointed it at the employee while demanding cash from the register. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene on foot heading southeast.
Surveillance footage captured the suspect, described as a thin male in his mid-20s to early 30s, standing approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black-and-white athletic shoes, and a dark face mask. Notably, the suspect was wearing distinctive black gloves featuring white writing across the knuckles.
San Diego County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for any information that leads to an arrest in this case. Tipsters can remain completely anonymous while assisting investigators.
