San Francisco Police Apprehend Armed Trio After Robbery on Geary Boulevard
San Francisco police have arrested three suspects following an armed robbery that occurred on the 2600 block of Geary Boulevard in the late afternoon of Thursday, February 27, 2025. The arrests, which took place the following day, culminated in the recovery of an assault weapon and other illicit items.
The Robbery and Getaway
The incident began around 6:45 p.m. when two armed individuals entered a retail business on Geary Boulevard. Brandishing a firearm, the suspects demanded and stole merchandise before making their escape in a waiting vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the encounter, though the business was left shaken.
Tracked and Cornered in the Mission
Utilizing surveillance and investigative leads, SFPD plainclothes officers located the suspect vehicle on Friday, February 28, in the vicinity of 16th Street and Potrero Avenue. Officers established surveillance, disabled the vehicle, and moved in to make arrests. The three occupants attempted to flee on foot but were quickly caught and taken into custody.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered serious contraband, including an assault rifle, a loaded high-capacity magazine, a silencer, and quantities of methamphetamine. The suspects were identified and charged with multiple offenses:
- Joseph Baus (34): Charged with armed robbery, conspiracy, possession of an assault weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a silencer, false imprisonment, and resisting arrest.
- Matthew Rabbitt (49): Charged with armed robbery, conspiracy, possession of an assault weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a silencer, false imprisonment, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance while armed.
- Danielle Edwards (43): Charged with resisting arrest and held on an outstanding warrant from another jurisdiction.
