Getaway Fails on Steep Street: Robbery and Auto Burglary Suspects Detained in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A group of suspects wanted in connection with multiple robberies and auto burglaries was apprehended in dramatic fashion after their getaway vehicle stalled on one of San Francisco's notoriously steep hills, police officials reported.

The chain of events began when SFPD officers received urgent calls regarding a series of vehicle break-ins and a street-level robbery occurring in quick succession in a busy residential neighborhood. Witnesses provided law enforcement with a detailed description of the suspects and their vehicle. Patrol units in the vicinity quickly spotted the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

Refusing to pull over, the suspects fled, prompting a brief pursuit through the city.
