Burglary Suspect Rescued and Arrested After Getting Stuck in San Jose Business Air Duct

SAN JOSE, Calif. — A commercial burglary attempt ended in a highly unusual rescue operation after a suspect became trapped inside a building's air conditioning ductwork on Monday.

San Jose Police officers responded to reports of a suspected commercial burglary at a local business. Upon arrival, officers heard calls for help coming from the roof area. A search of the building's ventilation system revealed the suspect was wedged deep inside the narrow air ducts and unable to free themselves.

Firefighters from the San Jose Fire Department were called to the scene to assist in the extraction. Rescue crews had to cut open sections of the metal ductwork to safely remove the individual. After a delicate operation, the suspect was successfully freed, assessed by emergency medical personnel for minor injuries, and subsequently taken into police custody.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the suspect or the name of the business involved. The suspect is expected to face charges related to commercial burglary and commercial trespassing.
