Thieves Use Vehicle and Chain to Pull Door Off San Jose Liquor Store

SAN JOSE, California — A brazen smash-and-grab burglary took place at New Aborn Liquors in San Jose, where thieves utilized a vehicle and a heavy chain to forcibly tear the store's entrance door off its hinges, surveillance footage reveals.

The crime occurred on March 16, 2025. The video shows a vehicle backing up to the business, suspects wrapping a chain around the security door, and the driver accelerating to yank the door off completely. Once the storefront was compromised, several individuals entered the establishment, quickly stealing cash, merchandise, and high-value alcohol before fleeing the area.

The business owner spoke out following the incident, expressing frustration and calling for greater protection for local business establishments. Police are analyzing the security camera footage and working to locate the vehicle used in the robbery.
