Suspected Burglar Rescued After Becoming Trapped in San Jose Air Duct

SAN JOSE, California — Emergency crews and police officers were called to a local business in San Jose on June 18, 2025, after a suspected burglar became trapped in the building's air duct system during an attempted break-in.

According to authorities, the suspect attempted to gain entry to the commercial property by climbing through the ventilation shaft. However, the individual became wedged inside the narrow ductwork and was unable to move. Realizing they were stuck, the suspect cried out for help, alerting individuals nearby who called emergency services.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and conducted a rescue operation to safely extricate the suspect from the ventilation system. Following the rescue, the suspect was evaluated by medical personnel and subsequently taken into police custody. Charges of attempted commercial burglary are pending against the individual.
