Five Suspects Arrested in Connection with West San Jose Home Burglary

SAN JOSE, California โ€” Five suspects have been arrested following a residential burglary in West San Jose, thanks to swift action by police officers and the city's automated license plate reader (ALPR) network.

The incident began on the morning of October 31, 2025, when officers responded to reports of a home burglary in progress in a West San Jose neighborhood. Witnesses reported seeing two suspects force entry into a garage and load stolen items into a vehicle before fleeing the scene. Officers quickly accessed local ALPR camera data to identify the suspect vehicle and trace its route.

The cameras tracked the vehicle to a residence located in the 100 block of Muirfield Drive. Officers surrounded the home, securing the property and detaining multiple individuals. During a search of the suspect vehicle and the residence, investigators recovered stolen items from the West San Jose burglary, along with a stolen rifle and a privately made firearm (commonly referred to as a "ghost gun").

The San Jose Police Department identified and charged five suspects in connection with the crime:

  • Juan Montano (55), booked on charges of residential burglary.
  • Ana Serrano (32), booked on charges of residential burglary.
  • Marisol Hernandez-Alvarez (41), booked on charges of residential burglary.
  • Diego Roque-Arellano (19), charged with possession of stolen property and firearm offenses.
  • Jesus Luvio-Roque (44), charged with possession of stolen property and firearm offenses.

All five suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail. Police officials credited the combination of vigilant neighbors and modern tracking technology for the rapid resolution of the case.
