Man allegedly sexually assaults woman sleeping at home: SJPD

The San Jose Police Department (SJPD) is conducting an intensive investigation into a disturbing residential sexual assault that took place in a San Jose neighborhood late May 2025.

According to police reports, the suspect managed to gain unauthorized entry into a home and assaulted a female resident who was sleeping in her bedroom. The victim woke up during the assault, and the suspect quickly fled the property before responding officers could arrive at the scene.

Police Appeal for Public Assistance

Detectives from the SJPD's Sexual Assaults Unit have been canvassing the area for security footage, witness testimonies, and physical evidence. Authorities have issued a community advisory, urging residents to double-check their home security systems, ensure all ground-floor windows and doors are securely locked, and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
