Shoppers on Alert After Smash-and-Grab Robbery at Westfield Valley Fair Macy's

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Shoppers and retailers at Westfield Valley Fair mall are on high alert following a smash-and-grab robbery at the Macy's department store, marking the second major criminal incident at the high-end shopping center in recent weeks.

Witnesses reported that a group of masked individuals entered the Macy's store during operating hours, quickly shattered glass display cases with hammers, and stole high-value jewelry and luxury merchandise. The suspects fled the scene in waiting vehicles before security or law enforcement could intervene, leaving behind shattered glass and stunned customers.

The robbery has sparked heightened safety concerns among South Bay shoppers, coming shortly after another major security incident at the same mall.
