88-Year-Old San Jose Jewelry Store Owner Retires After Brazen Smash-and-Grab

SAN JOSE, California — The 88-year-old owner of a San Jose jewelry store has decided to retire following a brutal smash-and-grab robbery that left him injured and his shop looted. While the family intends to temporarily reopen the store to sell off remaining inventory, the long-time business owner is stepping away from the trade.

The decision comes as law enforcement continues to make progress on the case. Authorities announced that additional suspects have been arrested in connection with the heist, bringing the total number of individuals in custody to more than seven.
