Stolen Kia Used to Smash Into West Seattle Cannabis Dispensary in Smash-and-Grab Robbery
A West Seattle cannabis dispensary was the target of a destructive smash-and-grab robbery early Friday morning when a group of six suspects used a stolen Kia to ram through the store's front entrance. The incident is part of a growing trend of vehicle-assisted burglaries targeting retail businesses in the Puget Sound region.
According to Seattle Police, the suspects intentionally backed the stolen vehicle into the storefront, causing extensive structural damage to the doors and security gates. Once a breach was created, the six individuals rushed into the shop and quickly loaded merchandise, cash registers, and display items into waiting vehicles. The entire heist took place in a matter of minutes before the suspects fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
The stolen Kia used in the crash was abandoned at the scene, and police are currently processing it for forensic evidence. Cannabis retail owners in the area are expressing frustration over the recurring nature of these ram-style thefts, which result in costly property repairs alongside the loss of inventory. Detectives are reviewing surveillance videos from the dispensary and neighboring properties to identify the six suspects involved.
