SIOUX FALLS, SD — Law enforcement officials in Sioux Falls have announced the arrest of a suspect linked to an armed robbery at gunpoint that occurred in the southeast part of the city. The arrest comes after a month-long investigation by the Sioux Falls Police Department (SFPD).

The Armed Robbery Incident

The initial incident took place on May 8, 2026. According to police reports, a suspect entered a business located in southeast Sioux Falls, produced a firearm, and demanded money from employees. The suspect fled the scene on foot before officers arrived. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the encounter, though the staff members involved were left shaken by the ordeal. In the days following the crime, the SFPD released descriptions of the suspect and appealed to the community for any information or surveillance footage that could help identify the individual.

Investigation and Arrest

Following weeks of follow-up investigations, detectives successfully identified a suspect. On June 12, 2026, officers arrested the individual in connection with the armed robbery. The suspect has been charged with first-degree robbery, grand theft, and commission of a felony while armed.
