Fort Pierce: Arrest Made in Spanish Lakes Burglary Spree

Suspect Apprehended After Traffic Stop

The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office has successfully apprehended a 46-year-old suspect believed to be responsible for a recent and significant burglary spree that deeply unsettled the Spanish Lakes Fairways community in Fort Pierce, Florida. Following a concerning string of more than ten reported residential burglaries over the course of just a few days, deputies proactively increased their patrols in the targeted neighborhood. Their vigilance paid off on Monday afternoon when, at approximately 1:43 p.m., observant deputies noticed a highly suspicious vehicle abruptly stopped in the middle of the roadway. A routine traffic stop was immediately initiated, and the driver was identified as Fort Pierce resident Vincent Cutrone. Upon approaching the vehicle, investigators quickly spotted a notably large television sitting prominently in the back seat, which immediately raised further suspicions given the recent crime wave in the exact same area.

Charges and Ongoing Investigation

Following the traffic stop, detectives rapidly launched an investigation and determined that a fresh burglary had just occurred at a nearby unoccupied residence—the very same location where Cutrone's suspicious vehicle had last been seen parked. The suspect was subsequently taken to the Criminal Investigation Division for questioning. Based on the compelling evidence, including the recovered television, detectives established sufficient probable cause to officially charge him with the burglary of an unoccupied dwelling. Furthermore, investigators were able to directly link the suspect to multiple other unsolved burglaries that had recently plagued the Spanish Lakes area. The sheriff's office has stated that additional information and potential further charges are forthcoming as detectives continue to thoroughly examine the mounting evidence. The authorities are actively encouraging anyone with additional information regarding this extensive burglary spree to contact the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division to assist with the ongoing case.
