Catch-A-Crook: Springfield Police Search for Suspects Targeting Mourners at Local Funeral Home

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri — In a particularly callous series of thefts, the Springfield Police Department is seeking the public's help to identify suspects who targeted mourners at a local funeral home.

According to authorities, the incidents occurred while families and friends were inside attending memorial services. The thieves took advantage of the unoccupied vehicles parked outside, breaking into multiple cars and stealing personal items, documents, and valuables left behind.

Police have released details under their 'Catch-A-Crook' initiative, urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity near the funeral home or who possesses dashcam footage from the area to come forward. Security measures at local establishments are being reviewed, and patrols have been stepped up in the vicinity to prevent further victimisation of grieving families.
